Although the Open-Air Museum Ballenberg is situated in the German-speaking part of Switzerland, it also gives great pleasure every year to many friends and fans from the French-speaking part of the country. This is largely thanks to the Association of the French Swiss Friends of Ballenberg.
From the shores of Lake Geneva to canton Jura, the Association has made many important contacts who help to increase the popularity of the Open-Air Museum Ballenberg in the whole of Switzerland.
In particular, they are active in working to save historically unique buildings, such as the multi-purpose building from Ecoteaux (VD), acquiring them for the Museum.
The Association supports the Open-Air Museum further by contributing to the design and development of the 'Western Midlands' region, and is regarded as the driving force in promoting French rural culture in the Museum!
